A l&rsquo;abri des regards, les chantiers de nos locomotives \u00e0 vapeur sont peu visibles, alors que trois d&rsquo;entre elles\u00a0sont en grands travaux, les 140 C 231, 141 TB 407 et 020 \u00ab\u00a0Suzanne\u00a0\u00bb. Le travail d&rsquo;atelier r\u00e9alis\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 2015 est plus que cons\u00e9quent et m\u00e9rite bien un reportage.<\/p>\n<p>La 140 C 231\u00a0tout d&rsquo;abord. Sa chaudi\u00e8re \u00e9tait partie en Pologne en d\u00e9cembre 2013 pour une restauration de grande ampleur (voir le\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ajecta.org\/HTMACTU\/actu_chaudiere_decembre2013.html\" target=\"_self\">reportage sur son d\u00e9part<\/a>). La reconstruction de sa nouvelle chaudi\u00e8re est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e \u00e0 part, sur une page sp\u00e9cifique qui en montre les \u00e9tapes successives. L&rsquo;\u00e9preuve hydraulique a \u00e9t\u00e9 pass\u00e9e avec succ\u00e8s \u00e0 la mi-octobre. Son retour en France est envisag\u00e9 pour le printemps 2016.<\/p>\n<p>A Longueville en 2015,\u00a0apr\u00e8s d\u00e9biellage des roues et levage pour d\u00e9montage des essieux,\u00a0le ch\u00e2ssis de la machine\u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 compl\u00e8tement nettoy\u00e9 et trait\u00e9. Il doit maintenant \u00eatre inspect\u00e9 par un expert de la Direction S\u00e9curit\u00e9 Expertise M\u00e9tiers de la SNCF. Seules les roues de l&rsquo;essieu porteur du boggie-bissel devront \u00eatre reprofil\u00e9es. Celles-ci servent \u00e0 relier le foyer, la partie interne de la chaudi\u00e8re dans laquelle le charbon est br\u00fbl\u00e9, et la bo\u00eete \u00e0 feu, son enveloppe externe fix\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re de la chaudi\u00e8re. Une partie de l&rsquo;eau de la chaudi\u00e8re emplit l&rsquo;espace entre ces deux enveloppes, permettant une la vaporisation importante \u00e0 cet endroit sous l&rsquo;action directe des flammes.<\/p>\n<p>Ces entretoises sont perc\u00e9es en leur centre sur toute leur longueur de telle sorte que leur \u00e9ventuelle rupture se manifeste imm\u00e9diatement par une fuite d&rsquo;eau visible. A l&rsquo;usage, ces trous ont tendance \u00e0 \u00eatre colmat\u00e9s par des r\u00e9sidus de combustion du charbon, particuli\u00e8rement durs.
