Our collection, including 14 steam locomotives and nearly 100 other items of rolling stock, tells the Frenh railways story from the early 19th century to 1950\u2032s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our museum is housed in a beautifully restored wooden shed, who received their first steam locomotives in 1911. This shed was built by the former \u00ab Compagnie de l\u2019 Est \u00bb (French Eastern Railways). Last steam locomotive left Longueville shed in 1966. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oldest steam locomotive in the museum is a \u00ab 0-8-0\u2033 owned by the former \u00ab Compagnie du Nord \u00bb (French Northen Railways). She was built in 1866, and sold to a sugar refinery in 1930\u2032s, who she worked as an industrial locomotive until 1960\u2032s. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The visit, in few words :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That you arrive by the train, by car, by car or on foot (a hiking trail passes under the viaduct of Longueville, in some hundred of meters of the shed), you will enter and discover at a glance locomotives gathered in a big circle around the turntable \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the roundhouse, you can feel the unique atmosphere of a place where nothing changed for a century.

One of our volunteer will welcome you and propose a self-led visite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will discover the history of the shed, the story of locomotives and the life of the men who drove them. Our volunteer guides can thus testify of their passion for the world of steam trains. After the visit, a stop to the shop will allow you to acquire books or railroad objects to support the action of the association<\/p>\n\n\n\n
